All my DJ friends do it for the love of the music. You'll never know passion until you've seen your friends spend their savings booking bands almost no one has heard of, making playlists, and finding venues, for a club that will never be profitable, playing only a specific kind of obscure electronic synth pop. They suffer for the art, and their commitment is second to none.

-Look, you guys are magic and pacts, you live for hundreds of years and have feats and magic items coming out of your ears and I respect that.
