When teachers should be the students 36 comments

Of course, the teacher probably didn't make the worksheet and misread what the question was actually asking. I don't think they intentionally counted it wrong just because it wasn't "their answer", but counted it wrong because they skimmed the question and thought it asked for something else. I bet if it was brought to their attention they'd give the kid points, heck I'd give him extra credit for paying more attention to the question than i did!

I'd like to add to the list: ring size
That way in case you need it when buying a gift, and so you don't spoil the surprise if you plan on proposing with a ring that already fits. It may also save you some money as some rings or jewelers will charge to resize a ring if you got it wrong.

Well I'm sure they understand the material it's just simple fractions, but they're probably just following the curriculum and are even too lazy to make their own worksheets. And apparently too lazy to read them thoroughly before giving it to their students as well.

afghan hound swimming 13 comments

Thats definitely not an afghan hound, very fake. Afghans faces dont look anything like this. They also dont have arms like a jellyfish that extend sideways like that. A real afghan hound looks like a soggy wig in water. This thing is creepy looking, like a hairy pool monster.

Its not really limited thinking it was probably just a mistake. The teacher likely didn't make the worksheet and didnt read the question properly, they then graded the answer on what they thought the question asked for. That's why the teachers answer doesn't make sense as a possible answer, but the teachers answer is based off what they thought the question asked, as they likely skimmed over it. The kids answer was right according to what the question really asked, but it was counted wrong likely because of a simple mistake, not because they are trying to limit this childs thinking.

Maybe its just the hole that hollow porcelain figures usually have? The chicken kinda looks like it was made separate and then attached meaning it needs it own hole if its hollow. Usually its hidden on the bottom of the figure but maybe they decided it was better to hide it in plain sight....

Its possible they knew to drown her in the tank as well, knowing any evidence left on her would be destroyed. They also didn't show up on any sort of security footage, if an employee is the killer they must have planned this. I'm not sure what kind of security cameras they have in the hotel, but you'd think they would have cameras in hallways and stairwells at least. Just footage of the stairwell or maybe a hallway would have shown what really happened.

Oh I don't mean the killer had intentions to kill her when high, its possible the employees actions when high caused her death. Such as being caught up in each others paranoia, the employee helped her to the roof by unlocking the stairwell and disarming the alarm. I don't believe finger prints really remain on anything if submerged or some other foreinsic substances either. I think thats why its considered near impossible for cases to be solved if the body is in water for a certain period of time.

It's possible it's a combination of both, she could have been on ecstasy at the time which would account for her strange behavior in the video. Due to her vulnerability of being high and roaming the hotel an employee could have decided to kill her, in turn disarming the alarm and opening the hatch of the tank. Or perhaps the employee was high as well when doing all this. Even if the alarm was faulty, she would still need a key to open the hatch, no key was found near or on her so an employee must have been involved some how.

Someone dumped their trash on this guys land, but the dumbasses had envelopes in the trash with their names and address on it. So he found their house and dumped a bunch of garbage on their lawn as revenge.

Better suited to a task does not equal talent, if somone is born with a body built for running you don't call them talented unless they actually have some skill in running. There are people who do get genetic traits to do something, but if they have no practice they probably are not very good. Talent is a mix between hard work and the luck of the draw.

Do a bit more research before you defame a charity by spreading missleading information about a company that is actually helping their cause.

I've heard this 20% argument before, but this is 20% to "cancer research" only. They donate the rest to other areas related to breast cancer. Their profits go to educating the public about breast cancer prevention and early detection, some to helping with treatments, some to research, and some to making breast cancer screenings more affordable or available. They are employees not volunteers, They are legally bound to pay their employees, just as they are legally bound to not keep any profits. This argument tries to make the non-profit look bad by saying they only donate 20% of profits, but its 20% to cancer research. This argument is based off a misconception of their use of funds which shows that research takes 20.9%, while public health education takes 39.1%, health screening services takes 13%, 5.6% to treatment, 10% for fundraising and 11.3%for administrative costs. All of their profits do go to breast cancer efforts.

Profit is made only after all expenses have already been paid. Salary/wages are an expense. Same concept with a non-profit Universities, the professors and administrators are not volunteers, they get paid, but the University is not allowed to keep the money after all expenses have been paid. Non-profits pay their employees, they are just not legally allowed to keep the profits they make after all their expenses have been paid off, they must either donate the profits or invest it back into the company to further their cause. I've heard this 20% argument before, but this is 20% to cancer research only. They donate to other areas related to breast cancer, such as informational prevention efforts, screenings, and breast cancer education. Most of their profits go to educating the public about breast cancer prevention and early detection, some to helping with treatments, some to research, and some to making breast cancer screenings more affordable or available.

What knowledge is necessary to function in the real world though? The knowledge needed of a person is relative depending on what career or higher education they pursue. What happens if everyone is tought only basic math and a student wants to be an engineer? Where are they supposed to learn multiple levels of math, literally years worth of information? Is everyone supposed to spend 15 years in college for information that other countries have learned in public school? School sucks, there needs to be more of a balance between structure and freedom, standardized testing should be illegal, and students should be given more resources to help them succeed. But teaching them less or only what they enjoy is not the answer, we can't cripple our students by teaching them the bare minimum.

Yeah a ban on them buying alcohol would be a pretty good idea, I also agree that the punishments for doing no harm should be very severe. People think they're invincible and that nothing is going to happen, but we all know that's not true. I also believe they should be more tactical with DUI checkpoints, in my town they tend to have them on weekends but just at random areas in town. They should have them in strategic areas they know people will be drinking, such as outside sporting events, bars/clubs, and concerts. If you want to drink at these events that's fine, but have a designated driver or call a cab/uber, don't be an asshole and drive drunk.

Its a bit infuriating that people are killed because someone decides to drive drunk. I feel like if you are convicted of a DUI you license should be revoked forever or at least something worse that the current punishments, perhaps even prison time, the law should be more strict. They endanger peoples lives and get a slap on the wrist, DUI punishments should be severe so we can hopefully make stories like this a rarity.

Well they're halloween monsters but it doesn't really say they are dead. Them being dead doesn't explain all the characters in town, What did the werewolf guy die from, or the slimy guy, or the witches? They were living in Halloween town not Corpse town I don't think they were meant to be dead, just spooky.
Well that makes a lot of true sense 6 comments

Yes I have to agree. 4+ years of hard work and determination does not equal a single test for a license. No, a degree does not make you a genius but you can bet your ass that person knows their field and had the determination to aquire that degree. Stop trying to demote those who seek higher education just because you chose a different path.
