I'm not talking about Carson's personal beliefs, because those don't discredit his accomplishments. And It's not the job of the government to give us everything we want and put us all on equal pedestals. I realize there will always be people who oppose this view and I likely won't convince anybody here but I believe America has one of the best income mobilities and you can make it big if you devote yourself to it.

"Doesn't give you good life opportunities" They give you the freedom to make your own opportunities and carve your own path. I'm not saying we all start off equally in life but you have every opportunity to make it in life if you try hard enough. Take a look at Ben Carson as an example. Grew up dirt poor and got to where he was today by his own will.

I never said it was easy to get in every state. I'm very sorry for your husband, but what I meant was I fully support medical usage, but i was hesitant for recreational use because I didn't see much use other than having a good time.

You know you honestly might have changed my mind. I didn't know about the benefits of it and i'm still uncertain because I know there will be more people driving high than before, but now that you've listed them all out I could be convinced for legalization.

I don't disagree that other drugs are a problem too, but why add more problems to that.

Okay but let me ask you this. What good comes from marijuana other than pleasure or fun (other than medical purposes because i'm all for medical marijuana), other than a likely increase in marijuana related car crashes and people driving under the influence.

The armed forces should be held to a higher stander than some crazy wackos who think dressing up in obscene costumes will solve anything.

It's likely a coincidence though considering all the other random wacky names celebrities give their children.

You also can't argue with close-minded people who will always believe they are right.

We could also teach kids to be open minded and not shove their opinion down other peoples throats. That goes for christian's and atheists alike. Live your life and other people will live theirs. Mind your business Mr. Bill Nye

Guest you truly are quite close minded. And a bit of an extremist if you think we should eradicate every Trump supporter. Making generalizations about an entire group of people and saying they should be killed for it is what's disgusting. People believed Obama was a moron, and people believe Trump is a moron. It's all beliefs because different people will always have different opinions so how about you take a reality check and realize your opinion isn't fact and you don't speak for the entire U.S.

When I said giving away free stuff, I meant things like free college, higher minimum wage, etc. Things disguised as being free that will in the end cost us more money. So Bernie would be quite popular actually, because he was trying to give everyone stuff but covering up how it would be paid for. He likely would have won the democratic primary had it not been rigged.

Where did you get the number 3x? The purpose of the electoral college is to ensure the voices of all Americans are heard. If it was a popular vote, candidates would only go to densely populated urban centers and offer them free stuff. It seems odd to me how the left seems to care a lot about minority rights, but as soon as that minority just so happens to be people living in rural areas it's bs and the majority should have all the power. Issues in different parts of the country are very different, so if candidates only cared about the vote of a very select type of people then it would bend over the rest of the country.

Well it sure was when Hillary rigged the democratic primaries.

But you shouldn't fight rudeness with more rudeness. It accomplishes nothing and nobody learns anything.

There's nothing wrong with referring to them as guest but it was the honey and sweetie combined with it that made it seem rude. Point is, jojo could have gotten the point across without the first 3 words of that sentence which only created a downgrading effect. The way to educate somebody isn't to treat them as less than you for not knowing what you know. Just simply tell the guest how it is without being rude about it and maybe they'll understand and listen. As soon as somebody thinks you're talking to them like they're inferior they're much less likely to listen to you.

Slightly ironic given the post, but it bothers me when people with accounts pick on guests as if they're less than you. I've been minding my business scrolling through this site for half a year before making an account and i've noticed that people look down on guests which really frustrates me. Not saying you were directly picking on them, but with the context in which you used the word guest and the rest of the sentence it seemed very downgrading.

Gun control in Japan 71 comments
meatball2012 · 6 years ago
Not to mention gun control won't work because the vast majority of gun related killings are criminals who got their guns illegally anyway. Gun control would only add stricter regulations or entirely take away the guns of law abiding citizens. By definition criminals do not obey laws so what makes you think they won't continue buying and selling guns that are already in circulation on the black market. The only thing gun control would achieve is disarming the law abiding population who wish only to defend themselves and their family.
